Hi, I’m Richard Williams, President of The D. R. Templeman Company.    I grew up in Plainville, graduating from Plainville High in 1972.  After college and a 7 year stint at Combustion Engineering in Windsor, I changed careers and joined my father and my brothers who were already key players at Templeman, a Plainville manufacturer of precision small springs that was founded in 1938.

Although not a founding member, Templeman Company has been very active in the Chamber since its early days and it wasn’t long after I returned to Plainville that I became a member of the Plainville Chamber Board of Directors.  I am a past Chairman of the Board and currently serve on the Executive Committee and I am Chairman of the Economic Development and Legislative Affairs Committee.

My involvement with the Plainville Chamber has given me countless opportunities to work with many of the business and government leaders in this town and has allowed me to give something back to the town that has given so much to me.  Due to the hard work of both past and current leaders, Plainville is a great town and, looking forward, I hope to continue working with the leaders in this town to make Plainville an even better place to live and to work.
